Stark Red Gold (yellow flesh nectarine)

Yellow flesh nectarine. An American variety obtained from the free pollination of the Sungrand cultivar. Discovered in 1976. Highly vigorous plants with regular growth form. Fruit bearing on mixed branches and sprigs. Very high production, subject to early drops. The fruit is medium sized, A . AA. Thorough thinning needed. The fruit is rounded and symmetrical, coloured light yellow with a 60-80% red tinged additional colour. The flesh is yellow with anthocyanin pigmentation, high firmness and suitable for transport and cold storage. Freestone fruit with high taste quality. Ripens about 10th August.
