Redhaven (yellow flesh peach)

Originating in Michigan, from a Holehaven x Kalhaven cross in 1940. Medium-vigour tree with high production. Bears fruit on mixed branches and sprigs. The fruit is rounded and coloured red on 60% of its surface. A and AA fruit size, good taste. Medium firmness, freestone. Yellow flesh which, depending on the production techniques, can have either an excellent or a very poor flavour (over-production). Fruit from very heavily laden trees is less preservable. A good cultivar for constant productivity and good tasting fruit, if picked at the right time (hardness 5.2 kg 0.5 cm²). Harvesting period in north Italy: 20th July.
