MaxRedBarlett (Red William)

Derived from a gem mutation of the William. The tree is of medium vigour, bears fruit on short branches, sprigs and mixed branches, and is a precocious bearer. The fruit is medium-large and cydoniform and the skin is smooth and a very attractive crimson red colour but can be subject to colour regression. Whitish flesh, melting texture, sugary, very aromatic. Particularly popular for fresh consumption with market shares higher than the William, but also stores well in cold stores for more than four months. Harvested in the second ten days of August, a few days after the William.
