Currently the best of the summer apples. The tree, of medium-high vigour is characterised by high productivity, but tends towards alternate bearing and therefore requires thorough pruning. It is sensitive to apple scab. The fruit is medium large and yellow with a red additional colour that covers it by up to 80%, depending on the clone. The flesh is firm, crispy, sweet tasting, good when picked and good for storage. Harvested in the second/third ten days of August.
